MAKHOTSO MABOTE

Makhotso Mabote is the Founder and CEO of Heartwork South Africa. As a self-proclaimed People Enthusiast and Healer at Heart – these are the two passions that she has merged to create Heartwork South Africa.

Her interest in people, how they think and what influences the way in which they behave has always been a topic that she deeply enjoyed exploring from multiple facets. One avenue that she took to explore these is through her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Johannesburg where she went on to further obtain her Honours in Psychology.

She then developed further interest in the the application of Psychology in the organisational context, which led to the start of a career in Human Capital Management.

Her initial foray into people development was in the Graduate Recruitment arena earlier on in her career where she discovered a passion for working with young people. In this role she primarily managed the young talent pipeline comprised of bursars and graduates-in-training in the development of holistic life-long skills and career strategies to enable them to maneouvre their chosen profession successfully.

She went on to further develop her human capital skills through her role as Human Resource Business Partner. In this role she was involved in the development and execution of various strategies related to talent sourcing, strategic business partnering, change management and being an employee champion at different levels within the various organizations for which she has worked.

After numerous years in the HR corporate field, she channelled her energy towards education, through working at an education focused social enterprise whilst completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Witwatersrand in 2019.

Her belief in and passion for the development of the innate, latent potential within all individuals has driven her to seek to make an impact through coaching, facilitating, teaching and people development consulting, which form the core tenets of the purpose of Heartwork South Africa. This has also led to her current studies towards an MPhil in Leadership Coaching with the Uniersity of Johannesburg.
